The impact of light on decision-making

03.09.2014

Different studies have reached the conclusion that people are more optimistic on days with sun and light. On rainy and overcast days, passivity increases and productivity levels at work decrease considerably.
This highlights the importance of lighting in workplaces. Effective, correct lighting in offices creates a more comfortable, tranquil environment. The more light and more intensity of light there is, the more emotional we will be when making decisions. This demonstrates the importance of correctly lighting the different spaces to be lit.

In addition to being more efficient and sustainable, LED lighting is precise, can be switched on and off instantly, and can be installed in different colours: warm light, neutral light and cool light. With warmer light, the workplace is more comfortable and relaxing, making harmony the common denominator. With a more piercing, intense light, the atmosphere is more emotional and less objective when people are making decisions.

Lighting influences us when we make decisions. Before choosing a type of light, we should be aware of the effects of the choice of one colour or another.
