More than 100 people attended the meeting who were keen to find out more about the new lighting regulations and the repercussions they would have on new light fixtures. There were many speakers, including: Manuel Casas, head of the COEIC's Lighting Group and who contributed to the drafting of the Decree; Sergi Paricio, from the Government of Catalonia, who gave an overview of the Decree and his first thoughts on it; and Lluis Ferrero and Manel Roig, from the Association of Municipal Service Engineers of Catalonia (Tecnicat), who discussed the influence of the Decree on municipalities. There was also a second group of installers and manufacturers: Jordina Oller, from CITELUM; Ramon Estrada, Salvi, Antoni Cardenosa, fromCarandini and Jordi Sarriera, from Simon Lighting; and Ramon Llorens, from Ignialight, who closed the meeting by explaining how businesses had already come up with solutions to comply with these new regulations. Ignialight was one of the businesses responsible for introducing the subject of LED PC amber lighting as a realistic alternative to HSP lamps. The latest research shows that they have much better light pollution levels and that their impact on the environment is far lower than white LEDs. LED PC amber lamps far outperform other street lighting, but as yet they have not been widely used.
